چکیده
Financial tools can present a solution to conservation conflicts. However, their effectiveness may be limited unless they address the underlying drivers of conflict. The restoration controversial megafauna tied clash urban and rural values rejection by landowners government control over actions. Here, we consider latent financial opportunity presented general public support for large predator maintain wolf-livestock coexistence program in Washington state, USA. We measured respondents' (N = 420) willingness-to-pay gray wolf (Canis lupus) preferences funding mechanisms, including voluntary contributions, mandatory taxes, ‘predator-friendly’ ranching certification scheme. Respondents were supportive publicly funded program, which represented around USD246 million estimated economic value. This benefit is more than 150 times cost current government-run program. There mixed so recommend adopting multiple approaches. A new source would allow rancher-led, shifting agency from communities, as well providing outreach opportunities ranchers public. As such, our proposal addresses two major socio-political conflicts debate North America while also generating protect industry.

In this research, optimization of gas microturbine through economic, exergy and environmental analysis has been investigated by the gray wolf algorithm. First, a thermodynamic modeling was performed for each of the above modes, and then using the gray wolf method, optimum points were determined for each systemchr('39')s performance. For modeling, the code written in MATLAB software was used. ...
متن کاملEffects of Wolf Mortality on Livestock Depredations
Predator control and sport hunting are often used to reduce predator populations and livestock depredations, but the efficacy of lethal control has rarely been tested. We assessed the effects of wolf mortality on reducing livestock depredations in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming from 1987-2012 using a 25 year time series. The number of livestock depredated, livestock populations, wolf population est...

متن کاملEffects of Wolves on Elk and Cattle Behaviors: Implications for Livestock Production and Wolf Conservation
BACKGROUND In many areas, livestock are grazed within wolf (Canis lupus) range. Predation and harassment of livestock by wolves creates conflict and is a significant challenge for wolf conservation. Wild prey, such as elk (Cervus elaphus), perform anti-predator behaviors. Artificial selection of cattle (Bos taurus) might have resulted in attenuation or absence of anti-predator responses, or in ...
